Welcome to the Language Preparation Class at Adolf-Weber-Gymnasium!
Here, we offer new students the perfect opportunity to improve their German skills and prepare optimally for regular classes. Our goal is to make it easy for them to enter the Bavarian Gymnasium and to provide the language and cultural proficiency needed for a successful school life and a smooth integration into the new environment. Integration is one of the pillars of our program on the road to a successful Abitur.

How We Help Your Child
In the SVK class, we offer around 20 hours of German lessons per week, providing intensive language support that makes the transition to the Bavarian Gymnasium easier. In addition, your child will receive lessons in English, Mathematics, IT, Sports, Politics and Society, as well as Skills. We prepare your child for the demands of our school, the Städt. Adolf-Weber-Gymnasium.

Requirements for Registration for the SVK Admission Days:
To register, the following criteria apply:

• Your child has been in Germany for less than 12 months.
• Your child will be between 10 and 15.5 years old in September 2025.
• Your child’s German skills are at most at level B1.
• Your child can demonstrate suitability for a grammar school or has very good academic performance.
• Your child will no longer be in the 4th grade of primary school by May 2025 (at the time of the trial lessons).

Admission Days Process
Day 1:

• Written English placement test (45 minutes) at age-appropriate level – no preparation required
• Written Math placement test (45 minutes) at age-appropriate level – no preparation required
• German (45 minutes): Trial lesson, no German knowledge required
• Getting to know each other

Day 2:

• Interview (15 minutes) with the parents and the child

Day 3:

• Feedback on admission or rejection

Note: The admission test cannot be retaken.
